The start of the Surf Day was incredibly relaxed as the team eagerly awaited the massive swell to subside enough for us to hit the waves. In the meantime, the kids took advantage of the chill atmosphere to bond, make new friends, and have some fun. Hot sausages filled their stomachs and kept them satisfied until the sea was ready for everyone. Before joining the Oakura Board Riders team in the water, the kids practiced their skills in the calm lagoon where the stream met the sand. It was the perfect spot to work on their balance. paddling, and even standing on the board for some of them.

As the sea finally calmed and everyone was ready to surf, excitement filled the air. Senior Manager John’s bean bag invention was a hit with some of the kids, while the abundance of helpers made them feel secure and encouraged. There were a few falls, wipeouts, and nerve-wracking moments, but everyone all dove in headfirst to give it their best shots. Laughter and cheers rang out across the beach we they all enjoyed themselves in their own unique ways.

A huge thank you goes to the Oakura Board Riders Team for creating a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
