Apply for Disability Sports Grants Online – The Halberg Activity Fund
Get active with a Halberg Activity Fund grant.
The Halberg Activity Fund is a grant that for helps reduce financial barriers for young people (aged 5 to 21) with physical disabilities and their whānau to participate in sport and recreation.
Funding can support costs such as equipment, lessons or coaching or assistance at school camp.
Key Information:
- Applications close on the third Monday of each month (excluding December).
- Only one application can be live per month per person.
- We do not fund retrospectively — please allow time for your application to be prepared and assessed.
- Applications are reviewed monthly by the Halberg Grants Committee. Funding is discretionary, and decisions are final.
To apply, you’ll need:
- A quote for the activity/item.
- A clinical support letter confirming the applicant’s primary physical impairment and suitability for the activity/item.
- A support letter outlining the need and benefits, written by the young person or their parent/caregiver.
A 15% personal contribution is required. If this is a barrier, please speak with your local Halberg Adviser.
