Public voting is now open for the only publicly voted category at the 63rd ISPS Handa Halberg Awards – New Zealand’s Favourite Sporting Moment, proudly supported by Generate, an award-winning New Zealand-owned KiwiSaver provider and wealth manager. Known for its strong long-term performance and dedication to exceptional customer service, impact investments, Generate shares the Halberg Foundation’s commitment to making a positive difference for New Zealanders.

This much-loved category celebrates 11 unforgettable sporting moments from the past year, each capturing the passion, pride, and emotion that unite New Zealanders through sport. This year’s moments span a wide range of sports and stories – from young athletes achieving historic milestones, to iconic plays, world-first feats, and deeply moving personal gestures that resonated across the country.

As the only award decided entirely by public vote, New Zealanders are encouraged to have their say and help crown the sporting moment that captured the nation’s heart. Fans can cast one vote per day, giving them multiple chances to support their favourite moment.

Voting closes at 8.30pm on Monday 16 February 2026, with the winner announced shortly after at the 63rd ISPS Handa Halberg Awards live on Sky Sport and free-to-air on Sky Open.
