First I got to go to Practices in Hamilton with my Coach and I did a really Long jump and made new friends, then when the countdown was finally over we travelled to Auckland for my first Halberg Games I was happy and excited to see where I was going to stay for 3 whole days.
The Opening Ceremony was exciting but made me feel shy until we did our first swimming races, my first race was 10m kickboard I was nervous to dive off the starting platform then I tried it and it was really fun. Freestyle was my favorite swimming race everyone was cheering really loud for everybody – Go Waikato!!!

After the swimming I went to the bikes, it was pretty tricky at the start but then I learnt what to do and my brother got the double seater and I sat on the front and he peddled.
The next day was athletics everyone was so helpful and kind to me. I loved the long jump I jumped really far off the mat like they showed me at training. My first running race was 50m it was exciting! Running races were my favorite because I ran really fast and I got to meet a girl with the same arm as me!
My brother and I climbed the climbing wall 3 times it was Awesome and I played Cricket with my new friend Devon it was so fun, Zack bowled the ball and I hit it and Cathy and I ran all the way. Then after that I did Archery for the first time with Teethtabs. That night we had a glow disco it was so cool, everyone looked cool. Sarah from our team made her wheelchair look the best and everyone danced and I won a big chocolate for playing statue.
On the last day I made a new friend and she taught me to play table tennis and I loved the Gymnastics. Me and My Dad ran the whole Halberg mile together and at the end I got a medal. Mooloo was funny in his race.
It was so cool staying all together and eating breakfast and dinner with everyone. We has so much yum food and got to play so much stuff. I can’t wait to go back again next year I made heaps of new friends.
