MAKING A SPLASH!
The Making Waves Disability water Day was an absolute success, bringing together an incredible community for a day filled with fun, adventure, and inclusivity. With the sun shining and the water glistening, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric as participants of all ages enjoyed an action-packed day!
From thrilling water activities to engaging land-based games, there was something for everyone. Smiles, laughter, and pure joy were the themes of the day, proving once again that sport and recreation should be accessible to all. And, of course, no great event is complete without delicious food – the sausage sizzle was a crowd favourite, keeping everyone fuelled for the fun.
A huge thank you goes to Auckland Basketball, Hungerball, and the NZ Warriors Foundation for delivering fantastic land activities that kept the energy levels high. Your support and dedication truly helped make the day extra special! We also extend a massive thank you to our incredible co-hosts, Find Your Field of Dreams and Vector Wero for making this event possible once again. Your ongoing commitment to creating inclusive and memorable experiences for the community is invaluable.
Seeing participants challenge themselves, try new things, and connect with others was a reminder of why events like these matter so much. The Making Waves Disability Water Day continues to grow each year, and we can’t wait to do it all over again next time!
Stay tuned for more highlights and photos from the event, and thank you to everyone who came along to make it such a memorable day.
