CELEBRATING A DECADE OF IMPACT
Earlier this month, the Annual Nationwide Conference for Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) brought together over 600 staff from across New Zealand in a powerful celebration of connection, collaboration, and purpose. Hosted alongside the Flight Centre Foundation, the event spotlighted the incredible organisations FCTG supports – including Halberg.
Halberg Senior Manager – North, James Glen, and Youth Council member, Jaden Movold, had the honour of take the stage to speak about enduring partnership between Halberg and the Flight Centre Foundation – a relationship that spans more than 10 years. It was a valuable opportunity to highlight the impact of Flight Centre’s ongoing support, especially through workplace giving and initiatives like the Halberg Games.

For James, the experience was a moment to connect directly with those helping to make a difference. He spoke about the work Halberg does across Aotearoa, and extended his thanks to the Flight Centre team for their long-standing commitment to supporting young New Zealanders with physical disabilities. One particularly meaningful moment came when a parent in the crowd shared how her son had directly benefited from Halberg’s support, reinforcing just how deeply this partnership touches real lives.
Jaden shared his own experiences as a member of the Youth Council and as a young person living with a disability. He spoke about the importance of inclusive opportunities in sport, and how support from organisations like Flight Centre helps young people like him feel seen, included, and empowered. The energy in the room was overwhelmingly positive, and the presentation sparked a renewed enthusiasm among attendees to engage with and support the cause.

Jodie. Global Product Leader at Flight Centre, reflected on the event with pride. She described the session as inspiring and said it reaffirmed the Flight Centre Travel Group’s commitment to it’s partnership with Halberg. She noted the powerful response from staff, many of whom were moved by the stories shared, and highlighted the renewed influx of workplace giving that followed the presentation.
The Flight Centre Foundation is immensely proud to have partnered with Halberg for over a decade, helping to create positive impacts and foster a future full of possibilities for young people across Aotearoa through sport.
This enduring partnership between Halberg and the Flight Centre Travel Group is a powerful example of how business and community can come together to make a meaningful difference – opening doors, breaking down barriers, and championing inclusion for the next generation.
