THEO’S FAMILY MOMENT

Theo’s 100m race became extra special thanks to the smiles and encouragement shared with his sister and cousin. His family’s presence and pride made the occasion truly memorable.

Ashley showed incredible determination and perseverance across the Games – taking on every challenge with a big smile. From the mile to the 200m, her spirit lit up the track and reminded us all what resilience looks like.

MANAWATU’S CHEER SQUAD

The Manawatu cheer squid lifted the energy of the entire Games. With constant chanting, pom-poms in hand, and encouragement for every athlete – not just their own team – they truly embodied the Halberg spirit.

LOU, THE HEART OF THE GAMES

Lou from Gisborne was everywhere – cheering, supporting, and lifting everyone she encountered. Her energy and positivity made her an unofficial mascot of the Games, bringing joy to athletes from all regions.

CHARLI’S RECORD BREAKING LEADERSHIP

At just 17, Charli broke two NZ Para shot put records and still made time to coach and support others. Her empathy, leadership, and fierce determination made her a role model for all.

In the 50m wheelchair race, Samuel’s perseverance captured hearts. As he powered through to the finish his teammates and others rallied behind him with thunderous support – creating one of the most moving moments of the event.

With loud cheers and incredible sportsmanship, the Tasman team demonstrated what it means to be part of a community. Their encouragement reached far beyond their own team and made a lasting impact.

MARION’S COMEBACK

After being sick just a week before the Games, Marion showed remarkable courage by competing in wheelchair events and cheering on others with endless passivity – giving 200% in everything she did.

BILLY’S INSPIRATIONAL EFFORT

Billy made the bold decision to switch from his wheelchair to a walker for the 400m race. His effort to finish, step by step, made this one of the most powerful and emotional highlights of the weekend.

RYAN’S POWERFUL PUSH IN THE POOL
