The Halberg Foundation is delighted to announce that the 63rd ISPS HANDA Halberg Awards will return to Spark Arena, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, on Monday, 16 February 2026.

As New Zealand’s premier celebration of sporting excellence and inspiration, the Awards honour the nation’s top athletes, coaches, teams and those making a significant impact in disability sport.

Adding to the excitement of this year’s event, Halberg is proud to welcome Barfoot & Thompson as a new partner. One of New Zealand’s most trusted names in real estate, Barfoot & Thompson will bring their expertise and generosity to the live and silent auctions at the Awards, helping raise vital funds for Halberg’s mission to ensure young people with physical disabilities can experience the joy of sport and recreation.

Halberg Foundation Chief Executive, Tom Smith, says the partnership is a natural fit:

“The ISPS HANDA Halberg Awards are about celebrating sporting excellence and inspiration, while also raising funds that make a real difference in the lives of young Kiwis with physical disabilities. Having Barfoot & Thompson’s support for the auction not only adds expertise and excitement to the night, but also helps us carry forward Sir Murray Halberg’s vision of inclusion in sport.”

Barfoot & Thompson’s Managing Director, Peter Thompson, says the partnership reflects the company’s deep connection to community:

“Sport has the power to inspire, to connect us, and to change lives. We’ve always believed in giving back to the communities we live and work in, and the Halberg Foundation’s work is something close to what we are all about. Every young person deserves the chance to feel the joy, confidence and sense of belonging that sport brings. We’re honoured to play a role in supporting Halberg’s vision, and are committed to helping ensure these opportunities are there for every Kiwi kid, no matter the challenges they face.”

The Halberg Foundation looks forward to another unforgettable evening celebrating New Zealand’s sporting excellence, while raising essential funds to support its mission of making play possible for all young people.
