SMASHING SUCCESS AT THE ALL ABILITY CRICKET EVENT IN TARANAKI
Local secondary school students, supported by Halberg, Parafed Taranaki, and Taranaki Cricket, hit it out the park at the recent All Ability Cricket event hosted by the Taranaki Secondary School Sports Association (TSSSA). This inclusive event brought together rangatahi with diverse needs to connect, play, and share the joy of cricket through a variety of modified activity stations. Participants experienced their own version of success while exploring cricket skills and equipment. The TSB Stadium buzzed with enthusiasm as cheers erupted for wickets, targets, runs, and hits, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.
The event embodied the power of collaboration, with TSSSA, Taranaki Cricket Association, and Halberg working together to ensure every participant had the support to enjoy the day in their own unique way. The result? A day filled with laughter, squeals of delight, and heartwarming moments of joy. This initiative is a shining example of person centred, mana-enhancing sports experiences, showcasing how inclusivity fosters fun, friendship, and fellowship.
